BIO

Théo Vischel is Associate Professor at IGE-Grenoble. His research centres around the long-term evolution of hydro-climatic systems in West Africa through the detection of trends in the hydrological cycle and the development of modelling chains to simulate the impact of climate, environmental and societal changes.

Hydraulic and Hydrological Model for the Sirba River Flood Early Waring System

Maurizio ROSSO, Alessandro PEZZOLI, Giovanni MASSAZZA, Giulio PASSEROTTI, Paolo TAMAGNONE, Elena BELCORE and Mohamed HOUSSEINI IBRAHIM

BIO

Maurizio Rosso is assistant professor expert in hydraulics and water-related issue. In the last years, the main topic of his research activity regarded mainly the river management problems and environmental aspects. At the moment he is involved in two international cooperation projects for the development of numerical hydrological and hydraulics models in Niger and water quality assessment in Kenya.

Alessandro Pezzoli is assistant professor at Politecnico di Torino, an expert in meteo-hydrological risk assessment and weather risk management. His research considers bio-meteorological and climatological issues and sports performance assessment based on meteorological analysis. He is actually involved in two international cooperation projects dealing with flood early warning system in Niger and environmental health in Kenya.

Giovanni Massazza Giovanni Massazza is a research assistant in hydraulic engineer at Politecnico of Turin. His research is focused on hydraulic model, floods and hydrological analysis. In the ANADIA 2 international cooperation project, he manages technical and hydraulic issues for the Flood Early Warning System of the Sirba River (SLAPIS).

Giulio Passerotti is a PhD student in Ocean Engineering at the University of Melbourne (Australia). He obtained a Master Degree in Environmental Economy from the University of Turin in 2019 and currently works on a wave-ice interaction project.

Paolo Tamagnone is a PhD student in hydraulic engineering at Politecnico of Turin. His research interest is focused on the hydrology, hydroclimatic extremes and hazard mitigation strategies in Sahelian areas. He was involved in the ANADIA 2 international cooperation project as support to the hydraulic investigations.

Elena Belcore is a PhD student in geomatics at Politecnico of Turin. Graduated in Forestry and environmental science from the University of Turin in 2016. She took part at international cooperation project dealing with climate change risk management and climate change-related gender issues. Her current research concerns natural hazards monitoring through geomatics tools.

Mohamed Housseini Ibrahim is head of the National Directorate for Hydrology of Niger (DH). He is a hydraulic engineer, civil engineer and hydrologist and obtained the G.R diploma from the Hassan II Institute in Rabat (Morocco). In the ANADIA 2 international cooperation project he actively collaborates at all activities involved at the implementation of the flood Early Warning System of the Sirba River, managing the field observations, field works and hydrological analysis.
